Kevin's humble beginnings were in the tiny, scenic mill town of Andover, Maine, nestled in the overlap of New Hampshire's White Mountains in the western part of the state. Most of his childhood, however, was spent in Ashburnham, Massachusetts, another modest town, known for its factories, lakes and alien abductions (no kidding!), located about 40 miles north of Worcester.

He got a degree in English at Gordon College, Wenham, MA, before embarking on an acting career. He arrived in New York City with the clothes on his back and a thousand dollars in his pocket and found an apartment his first day there—still considered a modern miracle.

For a few years, he did the audition rounds and studied at several schools, managing to appear in many off-off Broadway and summer stock productions, including The Shadow Box, The Pirates of Penzance, Hello Dolly!, and a summer with the New York Renaissance Festival.

It didn't take too long for Kevin to move on to a more practical career as a singer-songwriter, and he booked himself at several dives, long since closed, to ply his craft for the next few years. Eventually, the venues got classier, and he's appeared in such well-known rooms as The Triad, Don't Tell Mama, The Ballroom, Judy's, Rose's Turn, Eureka Joe and several clubs in Boston and Philadelphia.

Just when things seemed to be on the up-and-up, in late 1994, Kevin became the victim of a random, serial attack in midtown Manhattan. He was stabbed twice (chest and arm) and left on his own to find help. The assailant was later captured and identified by Kevin (in the emergency room!) and later was imprisoned. The incident gave Kevin his first TV news coverage and newspaper headlines—and a lot more grief than he wanted.

However, in the following years, Kevin rebounded with renewed enthusiasm. He went on to perform stand-up (nothing like near-death to bring on the laughs), founded SPAM, a troop of solo performance artists, and started his "That Singing Feeling" workshop, which has been growing in popularity since 1995.

Most importantly, he established his own record label, Cascade Records, and released his first CD, "New Light Dawning", in 1998. He calls the sound "eclectic easy listening" and it is still adding radio stations around the country. His original songs "I Can", "I Will", "Maybe" and "Weekends With You" have received much acclaim, as well as his shattering version of Orbison's "Crying".

He followed up in 1999 with the 3-song "Holiday Spirit" EP, which includes the title song he wrote, soon to be a perennial favorite.

In 2002, Kevin released 'Live at Middle', a live recording of a concert at Middle Collegiate Church in NYC in July 2001. The disc features more gospel, rock and blues numbers, and includes spoken bits.

Kevin has completed his MFA at City College/CUNY, where he is currently an adjunct professor. He is currently shopping his first novel, continues to write freelance, and hopes to get back into the recording studio in 2008.
